Overview
Opened in 1963, the museum began with a donation from Picasso's friend and secretary Jaume Sabartés, and occupies five medieval mansions in the El Born district. It's especially rich in the artist's early works and sketches from his teenage years in Barcelona, giving it a distinctive character compared to Picasso museums in other cities. It's a 5-minute walk from Jaume I station (Metro L4, yellow line).
