Overview
Architect Antoni Gaudi began designing this unfinished masterpiece basilica in 1882. Inside, tree-like columns inspired by nature support the ceiling while stained glass floods the nave with kaleidoscopic light. Gaudi devoted 43 years of his life to the project, and after more than 140 years, work continues toward completion. The contrasting sculpture of the Nativity and Passion facades is striking, and tower access opens up panoramic views over the city. Admission about EUR 26 (EUR 36 with tower; online booking essential). Right at Metro L2/L5 Sagrada Familia station.
Opening Hours
09:00-20:00 (until 18:00 November to February; special hours on Dec 25, Jan 1, and Jan 6)
Travel Tips
Online booking in advance is essential, and tower access requires a separate ticket. Morning visits show off the Nativity-side stained glass at its most beautiful.
