Overview
Overlooking Barcelona's port from 173m, Montjuïc hosted the 1992 Olympics. The 17th-century Montjuïc Castle crowns the summit, reachable by cable car or funicular. The National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) holds a world-class Romanesque mural collection, and the nearby Joan Miró Foundation is a modern-art treasure. By night, the Magic Fountain (Font Màgica) below MNAC stages a dazzling show of music, lights, and water (typically Thu-Sat 21:00-22:00; season-dependent). Poble Espanyol offers replicas of architecture from across Spain. Free to enter (individual attractions priced separately); cable car round trip about EUR 14.40. Take the funicular from Metro Paral·lel (Lines 2/3).
Opening Hours
Open 24 hours (castle 10:00-20:00; Magic Fountain seasonal)
