Overview
Built in the 1910s in a Neoclassical style, this synagogue reflects the once-thriving Jewish community that lived in Debrecen before World War II. Its large dome and symmetrical facade are notable, and its location on Petőfi Square makes it easy to visit during a city walk. The building also serves as a memorial to the Debrecen Jewish community, which suffered great losses in the Holocaust, and it still hosts religious and cultural events today. Free to view the exterior.
