Overview
Built from 1721 and completed in 1746, this Baroque Roman Catholic church serves as the center of Catholic worship in Debrecen, a city so strongly Protestant it earned the nickname 'Calvinist Rome.' Its twin-spired facade and ornate altar decoration are notable, and it was elevated to a minor basilica following a papal visit in 2019. Located between Piac Street and the Great Reformed Church, it's an easy stop on a walking tour. Free entry. 3-minute walk from Piac Street.
