Overview
Second in prestige only to Ise, this shrine enshrines the Kusanagi sword, one of the three Imperial Regalia. Camphor trees over a thousand years old canopy the 190,000㎡ grounds, making the city vanish; the 'Nobunaga Wall', donated by Oda Nobunaga after his victory at Okehazama, still stands. The treasure hall holds a celebrated collection of swords, including National Treasures. The classic route: pray, rest at the Kiyome-mochi teahouse, then feast on hitsumabushi at nearby Atsuta Horaiken.
