Beira Lake is a man-made lake at the heart of downtown Colombo, once used for city defense and canal transport during the Dutch colonial era. Today, the lake's view combining Seema Malaka temple floating on its waters and the Lotus Tower forms one of Colombo's most iconic cityscapes. Walking the lakeside path to admire skyscrapers reflected in the water at night makes it a popular evening date spot. Free to visit. Located in the Slave Island area.
