Overview
Located inside Sultan Park, the National Museum of Maldives traces the country's history from its Buddhist era to its Islamic era. Exhibits include Buddhist artifacts carved from coral stone, royal items from the sultanate period, and traditional clothing and jewelry, illustrating the Maldives' 12th-century conversion from Buddhism to Islam. It's small but a fine introduction to Maldivian culture. Admission about USD 3. Inside Sultan Park, near the Grand Friday Mosque.
