Overview
Granville Island is a mixed-use cultural district on the south side of Vancouver's False Creek, where a former industrial area has been reborn as a hub for art and food. The Granville Island Public Market sells fresh seafood, local cheeses, artisanal bread, and produce. Artist studios, galleries, breweries, and theaters cluster here, making it a full-day destination. The view of False Creek and the downtown skyline from the docks outside the market is gorgeous.
Opening Hours
Public Market: daily 09:00-18:00 (other shops vary).
Travel Tips
Taking the Aquabus (a small water taxi) from downtown is fun and convenient. Weekends are very crowded, so weekday mornings are best.
