Overview
The Vancouver Art Gallery, located next to Robson Square in downtown Vancouver, is Western Canada's largest art museum, housed in a former provincial courthouse designed by Francis Rattenbury and reopened as a gallery in 1983. It holds a collection of roughly 12,000 works by Canadian and international artists, including Emily Carr. General adult admission is CA$35, with BC residents paying CA$29 and visitors 18 and under admitted free. Free admission is offered on the first Friday of each month from 4-8 PM, and pay-what-you-can pricing applies Tuesdays from 5-9 PM. Located at 750 Hornby St, it is about a 5-minute walk from the Vancouver City Centre SkyTrain station.
