Overview
A 40km Alpine lake accessible right from downtown Zurich, offering views of distant Alpine peaks on clear days. In summer, swimming at one of the lake's many Badis (public lake baths) is a cherished Zurich tradition. A lake cruise to Rapperswil and back lets you enjoy Swiss countryside scenery. Stroll the lakefront promenade near Bürkliplatz alongside the swans. Lake access free (cruises about CHF 9-30). About 15 minutes on foot from the main station (Bürkliplatz).

Travel Tips
In summer, try lake swimming at Seebad Utoquai or Strandbad Mythenquai. A lakeside stroll at sunset is particularly lovely.
