Overview
The University of Zurich moved its collection here from the old downtown garden in 1977. Spread across 53,000 sq m, it holds about 9,000 plant species, with greenhouses of palms, tropical tree ferns, orchids, and carnivorous plants among the highlights. Both the garden and greenhouses are free to enter. About 25-30 minutes on foot from the main station, or take tram 2/4 to Höschgasse, or bus 33 direct to the 'Botanischer Garten' stop.
