Overview
Opened in 1929 on the Zürichberg hill, this zoo is home to roughly 6,000 animals across 365+ species. The Masoala Rainforest hall, opened in 2003, is an 11,000 sq m greenhouse partnered with Madagascar's Masoala National Park, funding real conservation efforts. Adult admission is about CHF 32, and CHF 18 for children aged 6-12. Take tram 6 to the 'Zoo' terminus, about 16-23 minutes from the main station.
