Opened in 1898, Switzerland's largest cultural-history museum sits right behind Zurich's main station. The fairy-tale Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance building is striking, and the vast collection covers Swiss history, art, and culture from prehistory to the present day. Highlights include medieval knight armor, the history of Swiss watchmaking, and Reformation-era artifacts. The modern extension added in 2016 creates an interesting contrast.
