Museo Naval del Caribe

Old Town, Cartagena

Overview

The Naval Museum of the Caribbean occupies a roughly 3,500-square-meter historic building constructed in 1612 as a Jesuit school, which sat in ruins for over a century after the Jesuits' expulsion before being restored and opened as a museum in 1988. Exhibits cover Cartagena's maritime defense history, pirate raids, and colonial naval battles from the perspective of the Colombian Navy, using models, artifacts, and cannons. Located near San Pedro Claver Church on Plaza Santa Teresa, it fits naturally into a Walled City walking route. Adult admission runs about COP 24,000 (roughly 8,100 KRW), with student tickets around COP 10,000.
