Overview
Located across from Plaza de Bolívar, the Zenú Gold Museum is part of the Banco de la República's museum network and displays artifacts from the Zenú indigenous culture of Colombia's Caribbean coast. The collection includes roughly 538 gold pieces alongside pottery, stone tools, and shell and bone ornaments - about 600 items in total, with labels in Spanish, English, and French. A visit takes 30 minutes to an hour. Admission is completely free, and the well air-conditioned galleries make it a nice midday escape from the heat. Note that it closes for lunch (12:00-14:00) Tuesday through Friday.
