Overview
Parque del Centenario was created in 1911 to mark the centennial of Colombia's independence and sits right on the border between the Walled City and the Getsemaní district, serving as a natural crossing point between the two. Beneath its tall tropical trees, wild sloths can often be spotted hanging from branches alongside squirrel monkeys darting about, earning it the nickname 'Sloth Park' - a free spot for a bit of urban wildlife-watching. With plenty of shaded benches, it's a good place to rest during a Walled City walking tour, and cafes and street-food stalls line the surrounding streets. There is no admission fee.
