Overview
Built between 1894 and 1905, Berlin Cathedral grew from the Hohenzollern family's court chapel into Germany's foremost Protestant cathedral. Its neo-Baroque dome and lavish interior are striking, and the crypt below holds roughly 90 members of the Prussian royal Hohenzollern family. Climb around 270 steps to the dome's viewing gallery for sweeping views over Museum Island, the Spree River, and central Berlin. It borders the riverside Lustgarten park, making it a pleasant stop on a walking route.
