Overview
Better known by its nickname 'Ku'damm,' this boulevard has been West Berlin's hub of commerce and fashion since the Cold War era. Lined with luxury boutiques, department stores, cafes, and theaters, its eastern end is marked by the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, preserved with its bomb-damaged spire as a monument to peace. Once a symbol of West Berlin's prosperity in contrast to the drab East, it remains the commercial heart of western Berlin today.
Opening Hours
Shops generally open 10:00-20:00 (most closed on Sundays)
🚇 Getting there
Get off at U-Bahn Kurfürstendamm (lines U1, U9) or S-Bahn Zoologischer Garten
Travel Tips
Don't miss the contrast between the church's shattered old spire and the new octagonal chapel beside it. Weekends get crowded — weekday mornings are quieter.
