Overview
Laid out in the 18th century for Berlin's Huguenot refugee community, this square is framed symmetrically by the French Cathedral and German Cathedral facing each other, with the Konzerthaus Berlin at its center. Its name comes from the Gens d'armes cavalry regiment once stationed here. Summer brings open-air classical concerts, while December turns it into one of Berlin's most popular Christmas markets.
