Overview

Officially named the Puente de Isabel II, it is more commonly known locally as the Triana Bridge. Built between 1845 and 1852 to replace a centuries-old pontoon bridge, it was designed by French engineers modeled after Paris's Pont du Carrousel. With its three linked arches, it holds the distinction of being Spain's oldest iron bridge and the first fixed bridge over the Guadalquivir River. Crossing it leads to the Triana district, famed for its ceramic tile workshops and flamenco culture, and the view of the Torre del Oro and riverside at sunset from the bridge is one of Seville's most memorable sights.
