Overview
Opened in 1977 and designed by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, the Centre Pompidou caused a sensation with its high-tech architecture that exposes color-coded pipes, ventilation ducts, and escalators on the exterior. Inside, the Musee National d'Art Moderne holds one of Europe's largest collections of modern and contemporary art, including works by Picasso, Matisse, and Kandinsky. The rooftop terrace offers panoramic views over Paris. Admission is about EUR 15. A 3-minute walk from Metro Rambuteau (Line 11).
