Overview
Built in 1248 by King Louis IX to house relics including the Crown of Thorns, this Gothic royal chapel on the Île de la Cité is nicknamed the 'jewel box' for its upper chapel, whose walls are almost entirely made of stained glass depicting biblical stories. The colors glow most vividly on a sunny morning. Admission is about EUR 13, discounted with a combined ticket for the Conciergerie. A 3-minute walk from Metro Cité (Line 4).
