Overview
Designed by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 Paris World's Fair, this 330-meter iron tower was once dismissed as an eyesore but now welcomes some 7 million visitors a year as Paris's defining symbol. Three observation levels offer 360-degree views over the city, and after dark the tower sparkles for five minutes at the top of every hour. The first level features a glass floor for an extra thrill. Admission about EUR 29 by elevator, EUR 11 by stairs (online booking essential). 10-minute walk from Metro Bir-Hakeim (Line 6) or Trocadéro (Line 9).
