Overview
A 19th-century port-side district where wholesalers of olive oil and groceries once kept their warehouses - 'Ladadika' means 'olive oil shops' in Greek. Spared from the 1917 fire, its 19th-century buildings were beautifully preserved and renovated in the 1990s into Thessaloniki's trendiest dining and nightlife area. Narrow cobblestone alleys overflow with traditional tavernas, gourmet restaurants, ouzo bars, live bouzouki clubs, and cocktail bars, where locals and travelers mingle late into the night. It's the place to experience the true flavor of Thessaloniki, Greece's gastronomic capital. Free to explore. Right next to the port.
