Overview
Glodok is Jakarta's Chinatown, formed as Chinese immigrants settled here during the 17th-century Dutch colonial era, located near the Kota Tua old town. It's home to Vihara Dharma Bhakti (Jin De Yuan), one of Indonesia's oldest Taoist temples, and its narrow lanes are lined with traditional herbal shops, goldsmiths, and street food stalls. During Chinese New Year, the district comes alive with lanterns and lion dance performances.
