Overview
Completed in 1901, Jakarta Cathedral is a neo-Gothic Roman Catholic church serving as the center of Catholicism in Indonesia. Its three spires and stained-glass windows are striking, and a small museum in the basement covers the history of Indonesian Catholicism. Standing directly across from Istiqlal Mosque — the world's largest mosque — the side-by-side placement of these two religious buildings symbolizes Indonesia's religious tolerance and diversity. Free admission. 3-minute walk from Istiqlal Mosque.
