Overview
Agra's Jama Masjid was built in 1648 by Emperor Shah Jahan and dedicated to his daughter Jahanara Begum. Located opposite Agra Fort, its red sandstone structure is adorned with white marble domes and geometric patterns, and the vast courtyard can accommodate thousands of worshippers. Quieter than Delhi's Jama Masjid, it offers a peaceful setting to admire Mughal Islamic architecture. Free admission (camera fee extra). 5 minutes on foot from Agra Fort.
