Home of the Taj Mahal - one of the New Seven Wonders - and a treasure house of Mughal heritage. The pure white marble of the Taj shifts color with sunrise and sunset, Agra Fort offers a poignant view of the Taj where Shah Jahan was imprisoned, and the intricate inlay work of Itimad-ud-Daulah (the Baby Taj) rounds out a masterclass in Mughal architecture. A day trip from Delhi is possible, but staying overnight to see the Taj at sunrise is highly recommended.
