Overview
Uspallata Valley is an Andean oasis village at 1,900m on Ruta 7 between Mendoza and Aconcagua. Known as a filming location for Brad Pitt's 'Seven Years in Tibet,' it offers a unique landscape of green meadows and poplar trees amid the barren Andes. Colonial-era mine ruins (Bóvedas de Uspallata), traces of Inca roads, and the colorful geological formations of Cerro de Siete Colores are also highlights. Free admission. About 2 hours by car from Mendoza.
Opening Hours

Travel Tips
Makes a great stopover on the way to Aconcagua and Puente del Inca. Try empanadas mendocinas at a local restaurant. Winter snow can make access difficult.
