Overview
Parque General San Martín is a roughly 420-hectare urban park west of downtown Mendoza, designed by French landscape architect Carlos Thays in 1896. It features an artificial lake, a rose garden, a zoo, sports facilities, and Cerro de la Gloria hill, where a monument to General San Martín at the summit offers panoramic views of the city and the Andes. The annual Vendimia (grape harvest) festival in March holds its main event here. Free admission. About 20 minutes on foot from downtown or by bus.

Travel Tips
The view from the top of Cerro de la Gloria is a must. Renting a bicycle to tour the park is recommended. Time your visit for the March Vendimia grape harvest festival if possible.
