Museum der Moderne Mönchsberg, opened in 2004, is Salzburg's leading modern art museum, clad in local Untersberg marble atop the Mönchsberg hill. It holds a modern and contemporary art collection centered on works by Oskar Kokoschka donated by Friedrich Welz, and the rooftop terrace offers sweeping views over Salzburg's Old Town and the Alps.
