Museum der Moderne Mönchsberg, opened in 2004, is Salzburg's leading modern art museum, clad in local Untersberg marble atop the Mönchsberg hill. It holds a modern and contemporary art collection centered on works by Oskar Kokoschka donated by Friedrich Welz, and the rooftop terrace offers sweeping views over Salzburg's Old Town and the Alps. Reach it via the Mönchsberg elevator (Gstättengasse 13) or a 10-15 minute uphill walk. Admission (combo with Rupertinum) adults EUR 15 (EUR 17 including the elevator), under-27 EUR 10, free under 19.
