Overview
Untersberg is a 1,972m Alpine peak about 15km south of Salzburg, the most accessible high-altitude experience from the city. An 8-minute cable car ride reaches 1,853m near the summit, where 360-degree panoramas encompass Salzburg, the Alps, and Germany's Bavaria. Summer hiking trails and winter snowshoe paths fan out from the top. Cable car round-trip about EUR 27 (adult). Bus 25 from Salzburg (about 30 minutes) to the cable car station.

Travel Tips
Even in summer, the summit can be below 10°C, so bring a windproof jacket. The cable car is free with the Salzburg Card. Visit on a clear day for the best views.
