Overview
Discovered in 1886, Banff Upper Hot Springs sits at 1,585m on the flanks of Sulphur Mountain - one of Canada's highest hot springs. The first bathhouse opened in 1888 and the current Art Deco facility was rebuilt in 1932. Waters maintain 37-40 degrees Celsius and are rich in minerals known to soothe muscles and aid recovery. Most magically, the outdoor pool faces snow-capped Rockies including Cascade Mountain - an unbeatable soak. Winter, when steam rises into the cold air, is especially spectacular. Admission CA$17.50. About 10 minutes by car from Banff town.
