Overview
Sitting on the Lake Minnewanka Scenic Loop, this lake is sheltered by Mount Rundle, Mount Inglismaldie and Cascade Mountain, making it ideal for canoeing and kayaking in calm water. Two lakeside campgrounds make it popular with campers, and it's also a well-known spot for Milky Way photography on clear summer nights. There's no separate admission fee for the lake itself, but the park entry fee applies. It's about a 12-15 minute drive from downtown Banff.
