Overview

This wetland at the foot of Mount Norquay along the Bow River valley is one of Banff's best wildlife-viewing spots, home to elk, beavers, great blue herons and bald eagles. A section fed by warm spring water stays ice-free even in winter, drawing wildlife year-round. It's a free, open-air natural area, though the park entry fee applies separately. It's only about a 5-minute drive from downtown Banff.
