Overview
Mount Royal Park sits on a 233m hill in central Montreal and is the source of the city's name. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted of Central Park fame, the park's Belvedere Lookout at the summit offers a panoramic view of the Montreal skyline and the St. Lawrence River. In summer, the Tam-Tams drum circles and hiking trails are highlights; in winter, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing take over.
Travel Tips
On Sunday afternoons the Tam-Tams drum circle near the summit lets you experience local culture. In winter, you can also ice skate on Beaver Lake.
