Founded in 1860, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) is Canada's oldest art museum, located at 1380 Sherbrooke Street West in the Golden Square Mile downtown district. Spread across five pavilions, it houses over 40,000 works spanning Canadian art, European old masters, Inuit and Indigenous art, and decorative arts and design. The permanent collection is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and an online day pass costs CA$30 for adults. It is easily reached via the Green Line's Peel or Guy-Concordia métro stations, with free admission windows for seniors (65+) on Tuesday mornings and for families on Saturday mornings.
