Overview
Perched 500m above Lake Lucerne, Bürgenstock is a prestigious resort area where Audrey Hepburn once married. The Hammetschwand Elevator, Europe's highest outdoor elevator (153m), punches through rock for a thrilling ascent. The Felsenweg (cliff path) offers breathtaking views of Lake Lucerne and the Alps, and the resort's world-class spa and restaurants complete the picture. Well worth a day visit. Boat and funicular return about CHF 30 from Lucerne (free with Swiss Travel Pass). About 30 minutes by boat from Lucerne to Kehrsiten, then 10 minutes by funicular.
