The Hammetschwand Elevator, Europe's highest outdoor elevator (153m), punches through rock for a thrilling ascent. The Felsenweg (cliff path) offers breathtaking views of Lake Lucerne and the Alps, and the resort's world-class spa and restaurants complete the picture. Well worth a day visit. Boat and funicular return about CHF 30 from Lucerne (free with Swiss Travel Pass). About 30 minutes by boat from Lucerne to Kehrsiten, then 10 minutes by funicular.

Travel Tips
The Hammetschwand Elevator runs May-October only. The Felsenweg cliff path takes about 1 hour; those afraid of heights should be cautious.
