Overview
Designed by French architect Jean Nouvel and completed in 2000, KKL Luzern is a multi-purpose cultural complex sitting on the lakefront right next to Lucerne's main railway station. A massive 100x100m roof covers the entire structure, and its acoustically celebrated concert hall serves as the main stage for the Lucerne Festival each year. The building also houses the Kunstmuseum Luzern, showcasing contemporary art. The concert hall is accessible only during performances; the art museum charges separate admission, roughly CHF 15 (rates vary for discounts and special exhibitions). It's a 2-3 minute walk from Lucerne's main train station.
