Completed in 1938 and used as the main stadium for the 1952 Helsinki Summer Olympics, this is a masterpiece of functionalist architecture. The 72.71m observation tower's height commemorates Finnish running legend Paavo Nurmi's world-record throw distance, and an elevator ride up rewards visitors with sweeping views over Helsinki and out to the Baltic. Inside the stadium, the Finnish Sports Museum lets visitors explore Olympic history and Finland's sporting heritage.
