Overview
Opened in 1998 at the mouth of the Aura River, Forum Marinum is Finland's largest maritime museum, tracing Turku's seafaring history and the Finnish Navy's heritage. The highlight is the tall ship Suomen Joutsen, built in Germany in 1902 and acquired by Finland in 1930; in summer, visitors can explore its deck and cabins. Several decommissioned vessels, including the submarine Vesikko, are moored at the pier, offering a hands-on feel for Turku's maritime identity.
Opening Hours
11:00-19:00 (summer); Tue-Sun 11:00-18:00 (shorter hours in winter).
