Overview
Housed in a 1968 concrete modernist building by Alvar Aalto's friend Woldemar Baeckman, the Sibelius Museum focuses on Finnish music icon Jean Sibelius (1865-1957). On display are Sibelius's handwritten scores, personal effects, and photographs, alongside a collection of 1,800 musical instruments. Weekly concerts let visitors experience Sibelius's music firsthand. It offers deep insight into the context in which masterpieces like 'Finlandia' and 'Valse Triste' were composed. Admission about EUR 6. Next to Turku Cathedral.
Opening Hours
