Overview
Stretching off Turku, the Turku Archipelago of about 20,000 islands and skerries is one of the world's largest. Sparsely populated villages, pink granite rocks, birch forests, and fishing communities create a unique scenery, with free ferries (Saaristolaivat) connecting the islands. Notable islands include Nauvo, Korpo, and Utö, and the 'Archipelago Sea Trail' (about 250km) is a summer cycling highlight of Finland. Ferries free (extra for cars). Depart by car or bicycle from Turku.
Opening Hours
Ferries: 24 hours (varies by route; more frequent in summer).
