Overview
Once the residence and administrative center of the Rector (chief magistrate) of the Republic of Ragusa, this Gothic-Renaissance building is an architectural gem. The Rector served a one-month term and was required to live here, with restricted outside movement. Now the Dubrovnik History Museum, it displays medieval furniture, paintings, apothecary tools, and coins. The elegant atrium hosts Dubrovnik Summer Festival performances. Admission about EUR 12. 1-minute walk from the eastern end of Stradun.
