Overview
Begun in 1502 by the noble Gučetić family of Dubrovnik, this is the oldest Mediterranean arboretum, with over 500 years of history. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Adriatic, it features ancient plane trees, a Baroque Neptune fountain, and a garden filled with exotic plants. It gained fame as the royal gardens of King's Landing in HBO's Game of Thrones, becoming a pilgrimage site for fans, though a 2000 fire damaged part of the grounds before restoration. Admission about EUR 12. About 25 minutes by car from Dubrovnik.
Travel Tips
