Overview
Opened in 1987 after Croatian-born collector Ante Topić Mimara donated some 3,750 artworks to Croatia, the museum spans Egyptian, Greek, and Roman antiquities through medieval sculpture and Renaissance and Baroque paintings, including works by Raphael, Rubens, Velázquez, and Renoir. The Neo-Renaissance palace building itself is a sight, and the museum is far less crowded than galleries in Prague or Vienna. Admission about EUR 6. 5-minute walk from Ban Jelačić Square.
