Overview
This gallery holds a collection of European Old Master paintings donated by 19th-century Zagreb archbishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer, housed on the upper floor of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts palace. Around 220 works from 14th- to 19th-century Italian, Flemish, and Dutch schools are on display, including a piece by El Greco. The ground floor exhibits the 11th-century Baška Tablet, one of the oldest surviving Croatian-language inscriptions, making it worth combining both. Admission about EUR 4. 3-minute walk from Zrinjevac Park.
