Overview
Located in a small village about 15km south of Eger, this 11th-century Romanesque church is one of Hungary's oldest surviving structures. Below ground lies a circular crypt where fragments of frescoes discovered here are considered invaluable examples of early Hungarian Christian art. It's believed to have once been a burial site for early Arpad dynasty royalty, making it an archaeologically significant site.
