Overview
Rising to about 500m northeast of Eger, this hill is known as Hungary's northernmost premium red wine terroir. Its steep south-facing slopes and distinctive soil produce grapes for Egri Bikaver Superior, ranked among Hungary's finest wines. A hiking trail leads to the summit, where the ridge offers panoramic views over Eger and the Great Plain beyond. Free to visit. About 15 minutes by car from central Eger.
Travel Tips
The hike to the summit takes about an hour, so wear good shoes and bring water. Nearby wineries offer tastings of the local vintage.
